C.O.P.S. accepts both monetary and in-kind donations of all types. These donations have helped us further our work each year as our survivor base continues to grow. We serve over 47,000 survivors through over 39 programs throughout the United States, Canada and the U.S. Territories each year. The opportunity for you to show your support of survivors and the law enforcement community through your donations to C.O.P.S. can help both survivors and the law enforcement community with much-needed support.

Contributions large and small continue to support survivors each year and continue to rebuild their shattered lives. Last year alone your donations helped 4,854 survivors from 48 states and Guam attend the National Police Survivors' Conference at National Police Week, over 1,070 survivors from 42 states attend our Hands-on Programs, 866 attendees for our Traumas in Law Enforcement trainings and 486 attendees from 38 states, Canada and Guam attend our National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma.

We are also happy to report that we have received our sixth consecutive 4-star Charity Navigator rating in 2018. This fiscal responsibility to making sure our donations go directly to our programs signifies our commitment to our survivors.

Workplace Giving (CFC)

Federal, military and postal employees can contribute to C.O.P.S. through the Combined Federal Campaign. C.O.P.S. is a participating member of America's Best Charities of America and a proud participant of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). C.O.P.S. is #11183 in the CFC. Donations can also be made through payroll deductions to the CFC (#11183), State Employee Charitable Campaigns (SECC), or your local United Way. The CFC number (#11183) is nationwide for all local CFC campaigns. C.O.P.S. must be accepted, however, in each local United Way campaign, so a local "cheerleader" is needed to get the ball rolling.

Make A Matching Gift

Many companies have matching gifts programs through which they can double or sometimes even triple the charitable donations made by their employees. Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your donation to C.O.P.S. Check with your company's Human Resources office to see if they offer gift matching and to find out about their contribution criteria. If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resources department should provide you with a matching gift form or online form. C.O.P.S. will verify receipt of your gift. If your company doesn’t have a program in place, ask them to start one!

Fundraise for C.O.P.S.

From school and workplace fundraisers to fitness fundraisers like: golf tournaments walks and runs, motorcycle rodeos, poker tournaments to a cross-country bike trek and fishing tournaments, groups of people all across the country raise funds to help C.O.P.S.

Vehicle for Charity

We partner with Vehicle for Charity to process our vehicle donations. Vehicles for Charity accepts automobiles, trucks, vans, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, tractors, boats and trailers. Some vehicles are not accurately represented however, and will not sell at an auction. Those vehicles are delivered to an auto recycler or salvage company, either of which pays a set amount for the vehicle regardless of condition. The process is quite simple and can usually be completed within five to ten days.

Recycle Cell Phones

The Charitable Recycling Team wants to assist you and the environment by making it easy to dispose of used cell phones. Because cell phones and their batteries contain many hazardous materials that can harm the environment if not disposed of properly, it's important to know how and where to recycle e-waste in an environmentally-responsible way. The Charitable Recycling Program encourages the donation of used cell phones and will provide a monetary contribution to charity for each cell phone donated, regardless of age or condition.

In-Kind Donation

C.O.P.S. accepts in-kind donations of all types. C.O.P.S. uses these items to promote our events through raffles, silent auctions and survivor gifts. Examples of our most valued in-kind items consist of items like law enforcement equipment and supplies, hunting and fishing related items, gift cards, food and beverages items for events and general merchandise used in silent auctions and raffles. Donations like these are used to help recognize our in-kind donors as well as raise funds for our Hands-On Programs, Special Events and National Conferences each year.
