At National Police Week on May 14th and 16th, children, step-children and siblings who have lost a parent or sibling to a line-of-duty death can participate in special activities. Children and Siblings of the fallen officer must be pre-registered to attend these programs. There is no on-site registration. Once registered, parents/guardians of the attendee will receive detailed information on the program.
C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens Program
Surviving children, step-children and siblings in Kindergarten-12th Grade may attend the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens Program. This program will give attendees the opportunity to attend grief counseling sessions designed for their needs, as well as age-appropriate fun and social activities. This program is held off-site at local law enforcement academies. Lunch will be provided for attendees on both the 14th and 16th. Additional information for the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens activities will be sent to the parent/guardian along with a request for additional paperwork on each child. Children must be pre-registered and must attend the C.O.P.S. Kids/Teens Program.

Day Care Program
Surviving children, step-children, siblings, nieces and nephews ages infant through preschool (up to age 6) can attend the C.O.P.S. Day Care Program while adults are in seminar sessions. This service is provided exclusively to the surviving children, step-children, siblings, nieces and nephews , of the fallen officer during Conference hours only. Children at daycare will be fed lunch on both days. After registration information is received at the C.O.P.S. National Office, a request for additional paperwork on the child(ren) will be sent to the parent/guardian and must be completed and returned in order for the children to participate. Children must be pre-registered.
