"I wanted to challenge myself mentally and physically while being able to bond with other teens who understand my situation. I feel I gained a lot of self-confidence and many new bonds with AMAZING people."

What to Expect

Outward Bound® is an adventure-based camp structured to inspire character growth, self-discovery, empathy, and active participation in creating a better world. This camp is designed to challenge surviving children to overcome the obstacles they face in their lives after suffering the death of a parent in the line of duty.

This year, the Outward Bound® Adventure features an exciting white-water rafting experience on the Colorado River, winding through the stunning Canyonlands National Park in Cataract Canyon, Utah. The Colorado River serves as a crucial water source for 40 million people, with its extensive network of dams and aqueducts primarily used for agriculture and urban needs. Participants will be able to tackle various river challenges, collaborate with fellow surviving children, and enjoy the thrill of the rushing rapids.

We hope that by attending Outward Bound® Adventure, surviving children will get that chance for a refreshing escape from their daily lives, allowing them to forge meaningful connections with peers who truly understand their experiences.
