Testimonial from a 2024 Parents Weekend Attendee:
“Here is where we come to be refreshed and see our ‘Blue Family’ that doesn’t live close by. It is a chance to pay it forward honoring those that helped us. It is also a way for us to honor and remember our son in a very rich and meaningful way.”
What to Expect
Suffering the loss of a child is the most unimaginable heartbreak for any parent, particularly when it occurs suddenly in the line of duty. In the aftermath, grieving parents not only face their sorrow but also strive to support their family members through this painful grief.
At C.O.P.S. Parents Weekend, licensed mental health professionals are available to guide you through group sessions that address both individual and family grief. You will also find support in connecting with other parents who share similar experiences and can truly relate to your loss. Support sessions are coupled with wellness activities, giving you the chance to challenge yourself, connect with others, and reflect. With the peaceful escape Parents Weekend offers, our goal is for you to leave with new tools for your continued grief journey ahead, an expanded support network, and a renewed sense of personal growth.
